FIR to be filed against former CM of Goa

chief minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday said that the Goa government will file FIR against the former chief minister Digambar kamat, pratapsingh rane, former mines director arvind lolienkar and other officials  connected with the mines department in connection with the illegal mining activities.

Justice M B Shah Commission has said that all 90 mines operating in Goa are illegal as they are not only functioning without the mandatory permission of National Board of Wildlife, but in violation of Supreme Court orders too.The Commission has pointed out that politicians and bureaucrats have connived to allow such illegalities in which all the 90 mines which were operational as on December 2011 were without approval of standing committee of National Board of Wildlife and was a clear violation of order passed by the Supreme Court and also some specific conditions stipulated by the Ministry of Environment and Forests..

The Commission has recommended that mines, which are running without approval should be stopped and the money should be recovered at the rate of export price or market price whichever is applicable.

Mr Parrikar stated that since the  bureau of  mines and the ministry of environment and forests were also involved in the issue,  he did not expect anything positive  from those who were themselves involved in the illegal mining activity

the decision is welcomed by common man, but the real question is that the culprits will be punished or not, as it is normal in India to see long inquiries, but finally political goons manage to escape from clutches of Law
